During its five seasons from 2006-2011, Friday Night Lights aired on NBC and the 101 Network. The show follows a 1988 high school football team from Odessa, Texas. Based on a non-fiction book and a film, the show covers the life of the fictional football coach.
If you love football, Friday Night Lights has it. If you love the suspense of a drama-filled TV show, Friday Night Lights offers that, too. It’s a great blend of sports and drama that appeals to many.
Playmakers was a short-lived ESPN drama about a fictional professional football team. It only lasted one season after ESPN decided the show showed the game and its players in a negative light.
