Popular CBS Shows to Watch.

The Super Bowl has a way of highlighting products, services and shows that we may not typically give much attention to, and while that is long over, the shows aren’t. CBS had the honor of showing the big game this year, and therefore was able to use valuable commercial spaces to showcase the network’s most popular programs.

For a non-seasoned CBS viewer, one may have been surprised at the various shows on. They range from hilarious comedy shows like The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly to intense, suspenseful shows like Person of Interest and CSI. There are also reality TV shows like The Amazing Race and Survivor. Here’s a brief synopsis of some of the shows.

The Big Bang Theory: Intelligent, Star Wars, comic book loving nerds mixed with an attractive, ditzy blonde meet and have scenarios that can only be conceived with such extreme characters. Dr. Sheldon Cooper is hilariously socially awkward; his lack of common street knowledge makes for many interesting moments. Penny, the actress/waitress from Nebraska forces the boys across the hall to liven up, while also maintaining an intimate relationship with Sheldon’s roommate Leonard. Leonard is the reserved, part nerd, part romantic who spends half his time trying to please Penny, and the other half putting up with Sheldon and his ridiculous behavior. Other vital characters include Amy Farrah Fowler, Raj and Howard. New episodes air Thursday at 8 p.m.

Two and a Half Men: Two men, and one in the making, living in a house on the beach. In its tenth year running, the show has grown over the last few seasons. With the replacement of Charlie Sheen by Ashton Kutcher, there was a slight change to the dynamic among the characters, making the show more humorous than ever. The half man, Jake Harper is growing up, leaving dad, Alan Harper struggling to keep up with him. In comes Walden Schmidt, the attractive billionaire who often lacks common sense, but keeps things interesting as the two and a half men live together. The show airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.
Person of Interest: This newer action-packed drama is unlike any other show on TV. Former CIA operative, John Reese, and computer genius, Harold Finch, meet when an extraordinary machine created by Finch begins to predict crimes, deaths and the like. The two different men work together to prevent future crimes from occurring with the help of Detectives Carter and Fusco. It’s an action-packed drama until the very end of every show. New episodes are Thursdays at 9 p.m.

The Amazing Race: With the start of its 22nd season, the Amazing Race is a beloved action-packed reality show where teams of two race around the world, completing random, crazy “pit-stops.” The pit-stops are part puzzle, part action-based, but always involve teamwork. There is a lot of drama, excitement and anticipation each week. New episodes air every Sunday night at 8.
